Ohio authorities release bizarre video of car reversing through traffic for a MILE

By Mario Tacher on Jun 07 in Legal News.

The Ohio Department of Transportation released traffic camera video showing a man speeding in reverse down a busy highway during Tuesday morning rush hour.

The seemingly skilled driver, in a white SUV, kicked off the risky road adventure by putting his car in reverse and proceeding to drive down a ramp near US Route 33 in the Columbus area.

ODOT employees had been keeping an eye out on the cameras because of heavy traffic that morning, and said the incident went on for several minutes.

Department officials believe something could have gone wrong with the driver’s transmission, but there is no evidence suggesting it was anything more than a joyride.

ODOT published a Facebook post later Tuesday when they shared the footage, calling the incident ‘what NOT to do in traffic.’

The post read: ‘Pro tip, if your vehicle isn’t running properly, pull safely to the side of the road and call for assistance.’

Surprisingly, the driver made it out of the venture without an accident.

The drive concluded when the man reversed his way into a nearby Kroger parking lot.

ODOT concluded in the viral video: ‘Please, don’t be that driver.’
